A volunteer firefighter was killed in a Genesee County crash, Tuesday night.
The crash happened on Fisher Road in the Town of Oakfield, about 8 p.m.
Genesee County Sheriff's deputies say 37-year-old David Beehler Jr. veered off Fisher Road, crashing into a tree and utility pole. Deputies say Beehler was thrown from the pickup truck he was driving. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Beehler was a volunteer firefighter for the Elba Volunteer Fire Department.
The Elba Volunteer Fire Department was called to assist Genesee County Sheriff's deputies at the scene.
Beehler was the only person in the truck. It's unclear what caused Beehler to crash. Deputies say the circumstances surrounding the crash are now under investigation.
