What a Woman Wants Boutique in the Village of Hamburg is expanding. Owner Laura Hackathorn has owned the store for eight years and says women in the village love having a local clothing, jewery, and accessory shop right in the downtown area.
"In a boutique you can touch things and have a conversation," Hackathorn said. "An expert who knows where they purchased it [clothing] and the story behind it."
A decade ago officials in Hamburg made a plan to focus on restoring and bringing more to the main shopping streets.
"There is so much momentum here, you can actually feel it," Hackathorn said. "This has really become a just a walkable welcoming people place."
Hackathorn is expanding next door and when the space opened up, she jumped at the opportunity to expand. The renovations are planned to be complete within a month's time, Hackathorn said.
"I'm very happy to say in my expansion I will have more clothing and I am adding a dressing room," Hackathorn added.
