Variety Telethon dollars at work: Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center

The Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center has served Western New York for more than 60 years.

Over the years, they've helped thousands of children and adults with physical and occupational therapy, speech pathology, hearing aids and cochlear implants, people with developmental delays and people on the autism spectrum.

Donations made to the Variety Club Telethon have stayed locally in Western New York and have benefitted the not-for-profit center tremendously. They've been able to purchase new technology to diagnose speech and voice disorders and also equipment for their audiology and speech departments.

With Variety Club donations, the organization has also been able to expand and create educational programs for children with developmental disabilities. Buffalo Hearing and Speech has also been able to create a sensory room. The room has a ball pit, columns with water bubbles inside, lights and calming music to help either help kids control sensory overload or to stimulate them.
