Police in Batavia want to know who went on a vandalism spree at an historic cemetery.
Some 50 to 70 headstones, some dating back to the early 1800s, were knocked over recently at the Historic Batavia Cemetery, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
The cemetery was placed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places in 2002.
Because the cemetery is a non-profit organization, it has limited funds to repair the damage. The Cemetery Association has started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs.
