Debris from the massive fire in Lackawanna is being found in many neighboring towns and residents are urged to handle it with caution.
The Town of Hamburg Emergency Services say they have been in contact with the Environmental Protection Agency and has posted information regarding debris on their Facebook page.
According to the post, the EPA is collecting and documenting samples from the fire.
Residents are being advised:
- Not to handle debris with bare hands
- Take precautions to avoid tracking it into the home
- If necessary, move debris with a stick or barrier between between bare hands and debris
- Limit exposure to debris
