While some Western New Yorkers wait for ridesharing to come to Buffalo, Uber is partnering with Lloyd Taco Truck for a day-long promotional event to make the wait a bit more tolerable - and tasty.

On Thursday, from 10a.m. to 2p.m., any Buffalo resident who has the Uber app on their phone can open it up and request a chance to have Lloyd Taco Truck come to their location and feed up to twenty people - for free.

While Albany deliberates, an Uber spokesperson says thi idea is tied to the momentum here in Buffalo. s

Some organizations like, The Coalition For Economic Justice, are speaking out on social media against the promotion calling it a "bad idea" for workers and for Western New York.

Local union leaders have also been vocal about ridesharing, saying they want any bill legalizing apps like Uber to define their drivers as "employees."
