Saturday is Give Kids A Smile Day, a national program dedicated to raising awareness about the commonness of untreated dental disease and teaching children healthy dental habits.
The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine will provide not just oral health care but free services from nurses, dieticians, social workers and audiologists on Saturday for kids. UB's Squire Hall on the South Campus will hold the event.
Until 3 p.m., children can receive oral health exams, cleanings, and fluoride treatments. X-rays, fillings or extractions will also be available if necessary. Kids can also enjoy activities throughout the day as they wait.
Screenings for hearing loss, guidance on healthy eating and nurse practitioners answer general health questions will also be available through new partnerships with the School of Dental Medicine this afternoon.
