State Police arrested two longtime Orleans County Sheriff’s Deputies for Grand Larceny and Falsifying Business Records.

An investigation by the New York State Police Major Crimes unit revealed Sergeant Dean Covis, of Albion, and Deputy Thomas Marano, of Brockport, submitted fake time cards to a private security company, during the same hours they worked at the Orleans Sheriff's Office. The timecards were submitted between November 2013 and January 2015.

Both men were arraigned in Orleans County Court Wednesday. The Genesee County District Attorney has appointed a Special Prosecutor for the case.

Both deputies are suspended by the Orleans County Sheriff's Department.
