Two motorcyclists going 78 mph in a 55 mph zone accelerated to 120 mph after police pulled into traffic after them, but before the trooper turned on his lights.

State Police Machias Troopers say the motorcycles continued northbound from the Town of Ellicottville into the Town of Ashford where police found the motorcycles hidden behind a farm at the end of Henrietta Road.

Justin Liszewski, 25, and Danielle Dipasquale, 26, were found hiding in the brush close by.

Police say at no time were any police vehicles pursuing the motorcycles.

Both motorcyclists were both charged with reckless endangerment and will appear in court later this month.
