State police arrested two people on Sunday in connection to the assault of a man in the Town of Sherman.

Troopers responded to a 911 call on Alder Bottom Road Sunday night, where they found an assault victim with visible injuries. The victim was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew.

Troopers report that their investigation revealed the victim was in an argument with 25-year-old Marty Troyer and 22-year-old Robert Yoder. Troopers say the victim was "held in a headlock and struck multiple times, suffering visible injuries." The victim called 911, but troopers say Troyer threw the phone into the woods.

Yoder was arrested at the scene and charged with third-degree assault. Troyer was arrested at a private residence later Sunday night and charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Both suspects were issued appearance tickets for Town of Sherman Court and released.
