The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says two people were killed and a third person was injured while walking along a road crowded with cars in Wheatfield.

The accident happened shortly after midnight Saturday morning on Shawnee Road. A preliminary investigation by the sheriff's office shows that Carly Marrs, 20, was driving on Shawnee Road when she hit three people walking northbound in the southbound lane near the fog line. A fourth pedestrian was not hit and immediately called 911.

There were numerous vehicles parked along the side of the road due to a nearby party. It's unclear if the group was walking to or walking from the party, or whether they were attending at all.

The sheriff's office has confirmed that Melanie Aronow, 18, and Quience Harper, 18, we pronounced dead at the scene. A GoFundMe page has been started for Aronow and has already raised over $6,000. Quincy Byrd, 18, was transported by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center. Officials say his condition is unknown at this time.

According to the sheriff's office, the driver was transported by ambulance to DeGraff Hospital in North Tonawanda with minor injuries.

At this point, their investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
