Two elderly visitors from South Carolina are in a Rochester hospital after a tractor-trailer struck their minivan.

The Genesee County Sheriffs Office says 62-year-old Dale E. Iloover was driving the tractor-trailer southbound on Route 63 in Pavilion when he passed a red light at Route 20 and collided with the minivan.

It happened just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Both the driver of the minivan and his wife were injured and brought to University of Rochester Medical Center. 68-year-old James Appenheimer was brought by ambulance, and 70-year-old Arelene Appenheimer was taken via Mercy Flight.

The Appenheimers are from Easley, South Carolina.

Iloover was issued a traffic ticket for failing to stop at a red light.
