Two West Seneca medical doctors are a rarity in their field. Doctors Jay and Alan Bolnick are O.B.G.Y.N’s who also specialize in both fertility medicine and high risk pregnancies.
“You can do something that can actually make a difference. And this difference will progress to the rest of the family. So, it's a very rewarding field,” Jay said.
A field he also happens to share with his identical twin brother, Alan. “We have patients that don't understand that there's two of us. They think there's only one here. There's only one Dr. Bolnick,” Alan explained. “Most people don't believe it. They look at pictures and say well there is two people there,” Jay added.
Both work alongside one another at OBGYN Associates of Western New York on Orchard Park Road in West Seneca.
Jay has slightly longer hair than his brother and their personalities are different, too. “I'm a little more outgoing. My brother's a little more sedate,” said Jay. But, both said they chose fertility because it can help cure the patients they treat. “We can make people happy, healthy, and propagate a family.”
Each often consult with the other on cases. “We sometimes think alike. Sometimes, we talk alike but we're obviously separate doctors and we give the patients a comprehensive care that we kind of feed on each other.”
Both Bolnicks will tell you patient satisfaction is what's most important. “We have always liked taking care of women,” Jay said. “It feels terrific,” added Alan.
