If you're looking to attend college and live in New York State, the deadline to apply for the Excelsior Scholarship is almost here.
Friday, July 21st is the last day to apply for this year, which means if you get all of your paperwork together, you could be attending a state school tuition free come the next academic school year.
This unique initiative is the Nation's first accessible college program that works in combination with other student-financial aid programs.
Those eligible can get tuition free up to $5,500 for state colleges and universities.
The maximum amount of scholarship money given depends on how much additional assistance a student receives for that particular academic year.,
In order to receive the full amount, you have to graduate on time. That's four to five years towards a bacholor's degree and two to three years for an associates degree.
