Troopers find pickup truck involved in pedestrian hit and run on Grand Island

New York State Police have found the vehicle involved in a hit and run involving a pedestrian on Grand Island on Tuesday.

On Tuesday at 8:06 p.m., Troopers responded to a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on East River Road.

After investigating, officials found a newer black four-door Dodge pick-up truck with passenger side mirror damage hit Dana Papaj, 53. Papaj was hit on the west shoulder of the roadway and left at the scene.

Papaj was transported to Erie County Medical Center and remains in critical condition.

After the accident, state police released an actual vehicle photo in hopes of finding the driver. State police thank the public for the tips provided in this investigation.
