Buffalo police, responding to reports of an underground transformer explosion in North Buffalo.
It happened near the corner of Hertel and Vorhees Avenues.
It turns out an underground cable failed, possibly due to the heat.
Some 800 customers lost power, but National Grid says all of the power has been restored.
Nobody was hurt.
