A speeding violation turned into a felony charge when City of Tonawanda Police found the woman was driving a stolen car.

Police say Andrea Alexander, 26, was stopped on Niagara Street for speeding when a DMV check of her license showed two suspensions for failure to pay fines. Police also found she was driving a car stolen from Enterprise Car Rentals on February 23.

Alexander was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, aggravated unlicensed operation, no drivers license, unregistered motor vehicle, speeding and use of a vehicle without the consent of owner, according to police.

Officers also said the car had smashed side windows on the driver's side, which Alexander could not explain.
