The NYS Thruway will be closing a portion of the I-90 West for emergency pavement repairs this afternoon.
Due to the repairs, the right lane of I-90 West between the Lackawanna toll barrier and Exit 56 (Blasdell – Route 179 – Milestrip Road) will remain closed through today’s afternoon commute, and could remain closed until as late as 6 a.m. on Thursday.
Severe delays will occur today between Noon and 6 p.m., with the peak delays occurring between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
If at all possible, motorists should avoid travel on I-90 West beyond Exit 55 (Route 219 – Ridge Road), up to Exit 56.
