New York State Police say I-90 Westbound near exit 56 has been reopened after a fatal accident involving a tractor trailer Sunday evening.

The driver of the tractor trailer died after crashing off the I-90 into a home in Hamburg, Sunday evening.

Police say the driver of the tractor trailer was identified as 57-year-old David K. Raney, from Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada.

According to police, the tractor trailer traveled off I-90 at the Hamburg exit and landed inside a home on Highland Parkway in Hamburg. Investigators believe the driver suffered a medical emergency while driving.

Police said he was hauling solid industrial chemicals in steal drums. However, according to HAZMAT crews on scene, none leaked and it was determined a safe area.

The people who live in the home are safe and were not in the home at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
