A Town of Tonawanda police officer is on administrative leave following a fight inside Mooney's Sports Bar on Military Road Saturday night.
Police say the officer, who was off-duty at the time, was involved in an altercation with another man in a restroom.
The family of the bar patron tells 7 Eyewitness News he was seriously injured after the officer pushed him into a sink, shattering it. He suffered a severe cut on his right arm near his elbow and underwent surgery at ECMC.
Town of Tonawanda Police say they will lead the investigation but consult with the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
No one is facing any charges at this time.
