The start of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament means a busy time for bars, betting parlors and, apparently, urology offices.
Western New York Urology in Orchard Park says it sees an uptick in the number of vasectomies it performs during tournament time and the week leading up to the Super Bowl. The Southtowns office has 25 appointments scheduled for vasectomies next week alone, as the field of 64 teams narrows to the Sweet 16 and then the Final Four.
The recovery time for a vasectomy is typically one to two days, guaranteeing men a few days away from work and home in front of the TV.
