Terry Buchwald, known to so many Western New Yorkers as "Buffalo's Elvis," is asking for prayers after his two year-old son had surgery Thursday to remove a mass on his kidney.
“Our pediatrician found a mass in our son, Brooks' abdomen at his routine checkup. After two days of tests and scans, they found a mass in his left kidney,” Buchwald wrote on his Facebook page.
Buchwald says doctors were able to completely remove the mass along with several lymph nodes, which were sent to pathology for further testing.
“We are so appreciative of your love and support and we ask you to pray for Brooks and our family during this time,” Buchwald said.
Buchwald says his family will know more in about a week.
Buchwald, who canceled three shows this week leading up to the surgery, has entertained audiences across Western New York since the early 1990s. He performs frequently at charitable events, including the annual Varity Club telethon and events for the Western New York Make a Wish Foundation.
