Attention shoppers: Three local Wegmans will no longer be open around the clock.
The stores on Amherst Street in Buffalo, Alberta Drive in Amherst and Military Road in Niagara Falls will close at midnight beginning March 4th. They will reopen each morning at 6 a.m.
The changes will allow the stores to shift employees to times when the majority of customers are shopping, said spokesperson Michele Mehaffy.
Word of the new hours at the Buffalo, Amherst and Niagara Falls locations comes at the same time Fortune Magazine has ranked Wegmans the second best company to work for in the U.S.
The Rochester-based supermarket chain has made Fortune's top 100 list for 21 straight years, often ranking near the top. The rankings are based on 315,000 employee surveys from hundreds of companies nationwide. Wegmans earned high marks for work atmosphere, leadership, rewards and communication.
San Francisco-based Salesforce, an IT company, ranked number one.
