Three people have been arrested in connection with a two alarm fire at the former Sacred Heart Church on Watson Street near Clinton in Buffalo.

The intense blaze caused about $100,000 damage to the old rectory.

Buffalo Police arrested 19 year old Cory Teti of West Seneca, 21 year old Joseph Sieg of Buffalo and 22 year old Tyler Lambert of Cheektowaga.

All three face arson, trespassing and criminal mischief charges.

The old church was closed by the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo in 1973.

It was owned briefly by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and in 1988, Witness Cathedral of Faith purchased the property.

It was bought in 2015 by a private owner and has sat vacant ever since.
