Thousands of fans descended on Canalside Tuesday for the Twenty One Pilots concert.

People lined up under the sunshine throughout the afternoon, hours ahead of the show, in hopes of getting a prime spot to watch the band.

A handful of people even camped out along the waterfront overnight, as severe thunderstorms passed through Buffalo and parts of Western New York.

Many of them fled to nearby hotels and restaurants to seek shelter from the heavy rainfall.

"A bunch of [fans in line] went over to the hotel area, and I grabbed all my gear and went over to a tent that happened to be set up over in the Liberty area waiting for the rain to stop," superfan John Wach said.

The dedicated wait culminated with a lively concert under the sunset on Tuesday evening.
