After NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly, 58, announced that his oral cancer has returned, there has been an outpouring of support as people offer well-wishes for his recovery.

Details of the cancer were not released or where the treatment will take place.  During his two previous bouts with cancer, Jim Kelly was treated at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) in Buffalo.

Kelly dedicated his former room in ECMC and filled it with memorabilia to help inspire others who were going through the same struggle.

ECMC released the following statement:

“The ECMC Family sends its affection and thoughts to Jim Kelly and his family. He has always shown ECMC and our entire community what it means to be Kelly Tough and we will all be at his side as he shows us again.”

7 Eyewitness News Reporter Ed Reilly spoke with a close friend and a medical expert at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center about Jim Kelly's situation.
