Thieves targeting unlocked cars in Lancaster

LANCASTER, N.Y. (WKBW) - Thieves are targeting unlocked cars in Lancaster.  Over the past few days police have responded to a number of calls where money or property was taken from unlocked cars.  Police say several neighborhoods have been targeted.

Police are reminding residents to remove anything valuable from their cars, and to make sure the doors are locked and the windows are up.  Neighbors are also reminded to park in a well-lit area, and to be watchful for any suspicious activity, especially when it's dark.  If you see anything you think should be reported, call Lancaster Police at 683-2800 or call 911 for an emergency.
