A unique program is helping Western New York’s next generation’s path to success.

WNY YouthBuild is a program shaping the lives of young adults, aged 16-24.  It is one of the programs through The Service Collaborative of WNY and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor.

This program allows at-risk or low-income young adults to earn their G.E.D. while also participating in community revitalization projects.

The group is remodeling a home on Normal Avenue.

Not only does this program teach its’ participants how to do basic construction work, it also teaches them skills and the experience to reach their dreams.

“I want to become a social worker that something i look forward to doing and this is like the first step for me,” Ranesha Kadenhead, YouthBuild participant, said.

There are 32 participants enrolled.
