Now Making: Buffalo Collective

If you've never used power tools before, that's not a problem when taking a class at Buffalo Collective.
The company offers DIY pallet parties. Customers come in and build a one-of-a-kind piece from start to finish.

It's a new twist on a DIY night out, as the resurgence of handmade hits Buffalo.

"A lot of people who come to us aren't DIY'ers which is the best part about that," said Jillian Cannan, one of the owners.

Colleen Dickerson and Jillian Cannan are both stay at home moms, and opened the South Buffalo studio introducing the pallet party concept in 2016. Since then, they've expanded, offering classes at the South Buffalo location and in Williamsville.

A lot of the designs people choose are Buffalo related. Anything can be customized to fit your home.

What's rewarding for Jillian and Colleen is seeing their customers cherish the pallets they make.

"We want them to be excited about it," said Cannan. "It’s something that you built start to finish by yourself, you chose the design you did for a reason and we want you to love it."
