A local musician and motivational speaker has won an award for being a disability advocate.
36-year-old Sujeet Desai won the 2018 "Chris Burke Award for Excellence in Disability Advocacy” from the Museum Of disABILITY.
Desai has not allowed his Down Syndrome to stop him from reaching his dreams.
He plays seven instruments and has performed in 14 countries. He's captivated audiences at Carnegie Hall and was one of 13 musicians selected to play in London and be featured in a commercial for the 2016 Paralympics.
