Oxford Pennant designs and manufacturers vintage pennants in Buffalo, including a New York pennant for retailer J.Crew.
"There is a customized tag that says Oxford Pennant for J.Crew," David Horesh, co-founder of the company said.
Horesh says the tag says proudly manufactured in Buffalo, N.Y.
"We want people to look at Buffalo and see that something interesting is happening here and really to understand all the things that we love about this community," he said.
Oxford Pennant has designed more than 100 pennants made of natural wool and cotton.
Some of them being regionally specific, fun phrases, or customized. Horesh says Drew Barrymore has even made a custom order!
The company started in 2013 after making a handful and selling the pennants at festivals and ever since then Oxford Pennant has taken off online.
Horesh says the brand has been featured in Adidas, Tillys and has even made an Instagram pennant.
"Part of the reason that we've been able to create a company that's been as successful as Oxford Pennant has been specifically because of Buffalo," he said.
A pop up shop has opened Friday at 5 p.m. until December 23rd. The shop is located at 731 Main Street, Buffalo and will be open from Noon to 8 p.m.
A permanent location is expected to open in the spring.
