The City of Niagara Falls is going smoke-free: here's how

Niagara Falls is now going smoke-free in its city-managed housing units.

The Housing Authority says it's complying with a smoking ban outlined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, just ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

The ban prohibits people from smoking cigarettes, cigars, pipes or hookahs both inside and within 25 feet of any municipal housing building.

HUD released its final rule requiring public housing agencies nationwide like the Niagara Falls Housing Authority to implement a smoke-free policy by July 31 of this year back in 2016.
