Reports of footprints in the snow around a car about 4:30 Sunday morning led police to a teenager who approached dozens of cars.
Orchard Park Police say they tracked footprints from the car of the caller that led to a home on Milestrip Road where they found a teenager who admitted to walking up to several cars and taking items from at least one.
The 14-year-old handed the items over to police and was taken to the Ochard Park Police Department with his parents.
Police say the teen was charged with petit larceny and possession of stolen property.
The juvenile was released to the parents with an appearance ticket.
