Target enthusiasts in Buffalo will soon have a new way to shop. Shipt, a membership-based same-day delivery service, confirms that it is coming to Buffalo.

Dana Jacobs, a Shipt spokesperson tells 7EWN "We do have plans to expand in the area very soon, but I can't share more details just yet."  Those details are expected to be ironed out over the next several weeks.

Shipt, which claims to be the nation's fastest growing online grocery marketplace, is now owned by Target.

The company allows shoppers to have fresh foods, household essentials, electronics, toys and other products delivered to their doorstep using the web or a mobile device. Customers choose a delivery window and pay for their order online. Shipt Shoppers will then go through the Target store and fill each order.

Shipt is a membership-based service. In other markets customers who purchase a membership receive unlimited deliveries for an annual fee of $99.

Instacart is a similar service already working with stores in the WNY area like Wegmans and Tops.
