Deputies with the Erie County Sheriff's Office have arrested two suspects involved in a chase Monday night.

Anastasia Deveso, 21, and 26-year-old Michael Sawyer were charged after deputies say Sawyer failed to stop for a patrol vehicle.

Around 10:00 p.m. Monday night, deputies spotted a car on Shimerville Road with inadequate lighting. When that vehicle was pulled over, the deputy got out of his patrol car and then the suspects raced off.

During the pursuit, two people jumped from the car near Conner and County Roads. Sawyer and Deveso were later found at Sawyer's home.

Sawyer was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation, obstruction of governmental administration and several vehicle and traffic violations. More charged are pending.

Deveso, the passenger in Sawyer's vehicle, was charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of a hypodermic instrument and was released on appearance tickets.

The two passengers that jumped from the vehicle were not charged.
