Buffalo police are investigating the death of a man during a traffic stop.

It happened Tuesday night just after 9pm at North Oak and Tupper.

Police say during a traffic stop, the male driver ingested a bag of white powder. Officers immediately called for an ambulance.

The 47 year old Buffalo man was transported by ambulance to ECMC where he later died.

The incident remains under investigation by Buffalo police. The Erie County District Attorney's office has been notified and provided with the information.

Buffalo police are investigating an in custody death that occurred Tuesday night. The incident happened just after 9pm Tuesday night at North Oak & Tupper, as police were conducting a traffic stop. Police say during the investigation the male driver ingested a bag of white powder. Police called for an ambulance and the 47 year old Buffalo male was transported by ambulance to ECMC. Authorities say he was later declared deceased at the hospital. The incident remains under investigation by Buffalo police. The Erie County District Attorney's office has been notified and provided with the information.
