Multicultural Night at Buffalo P.S. 3 - D'Youville Porter Campus is typically a night for students to showcase their family's heritage.

Instead, Rawan Fadel, Ayeisha Sanango and Lilyana Rosaro only wanted to talk about Haiti.

"It's really damaged and we're really sad about it and we just want to help other people," Fadel told 7 Eyewitness News.

After the trio saw pictures of the devastation in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew, they felt compelled to help people who live there.

The girls have started a donation drive to collect items that they can send to the country.

"Some people don't have families - don't have homes, not anything like us and we're really grateful for what we have," Fadel told during Multicultural Night at the school.

The drive begins December 1st.  Donations can be dropped off at the school, located at 255 Porter Avenue.
