The legacy of a local student lives on, through organ donation.
Eighteen-year-old Nolan Burch, a graduate of Canisius High School, passed away in 2014. The teen died from alcohol poisoning while attending a frat party at West Virginia University. Two WVU fraternity members were charged with hazing in the months following his death.
Burch's family donated Nolan's organs and has since learned his kidneys went to a fellow WVU student. That student reached out to the Burch family to say thank you, here is part of that message.
The Burch family says Nolan's liver was donated to a woman who is a pilot.
