Students at Riverside Academy in Buffalo launched handcrafted 15-foot-long wooden boats onto the waters of Hoyt Lake.
The students started out with plans on how to build the boat from scratch and a stack of raw materials. Under the guidance of the Buffalo Maritime Center, students were able to assemble and build the boats.
According to the Buffalo Maritime Center, students used real-life applications including math, science and engineering to build these boats.
