A 14-year-old Gowanda girl is in police custody accused of stabbing another 14-year-old with a steak knife.
According to Gowanda Police, the female victim was found bleeding in a snowbank Wednesday evening, on Chestnut Street.
She was first taken to Lake Shore Hospital, then later transferred to Oishei Children's Hospital. The victim's condition is not being released at this point.
Police say the 14-year-old suspect was identified by witnesses at the scene, she was later arrested at her home. The girl is now charged with Assault and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, she's being held in juvenile detention pending further court proceedings.
Investigators say the assault stemmed from threats made over texting and social media.
