In a statement on Facebook from Senator Charles Schumer Monday morning, the Democrat strongly opposed the actions of President Trump during his first week in office.

"In his first week in office the president has stomped over our proud American tradition of welcoming immigrants and refugees, trafficked in alternative facts, and is attempting to fill his cabinet with billionaires and bankers," said Schumer.

Schumer says President Trump's cabinet nominees will "further rig the system in favor of the special interests." He says he will "vote against nominees who will be the very worst of this anti-immigrant, anti-middle-class, billionaires' club cabinet."

Schumer says he is also demanding each nominee issue a public statement on his or her opinions of President Trump's travel ban.
