Strong winds toppled trees and power lines all across Western New York Wednesday night, leaving many without power.
The winds were so strong that it blew down a gas station canopy in Batavia. Just down the road, live power lines downed on State Street Road sparked a small fire on the pavement.
The highest wind gust was clocked in at 62 mph in Warsaw. Batavia had a wind gust measured in at 61 mph.
As of now, NYSEG says multiple power outages are still being reported across the area.
Winds will eventually subside throughout the day. A gusty breeze out of the northwest will remain out there today.
