A few stores in Niagara County have been cited for selling tobacco to minors.

The Niagara County Department of Health (NCDOH) says it conducted 74 compliance checks at stores across the county between July 1, 2016 and September 30, 2016. The following three stores were fined for violations:

  • Bray and Bray in Niagara Falls
  • Bernardi’s Rapid Mart in Lockport
  • Kwik Stop Mart, Inc. in Lockport

Health officials say the stores sold tobacco to children under the age of 17 and were fined a total of $1,850. Each facility is required to conduct employee training and education programs monitored by NCDOH.
