Stop the Violence Coalition needs a new van.
It's an organization that focuses on making a statement about nonviolence in the community by driving to areas effected by violence and acting as a beacon of hope for neighbors. It also drives children to events across Western New York like Darien Lake, University Buffalo sports games, and Canisius College basketball games.
"Right now, we are in dire need dire need for a new bus," Willie Green, Vice Chairman of Stop the Violence, said.
Without the bus, Stop the Violence can't get their message across as well.
“We go wherever we needed at we go to the suburbs of Buffalo, New York, Cheektowaga, Tonawanda, Amherst,” Green said.
It's an important part of a community that has experienced multiple shootings in the past month.
"This bus is life, is life in our community," Murray Holman, executive director of Stop the Violence, said.
The organization is accepting all forms of donations. If you would like to help, call (716) 578-7882.
