Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the suspension of roadway related construction this holiday weekend in order to ease traffic on a busy travel weekend across New York State.

Temporary lane closures that are the result of construction on bridges and roads are lifted until Monday morning.

"Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel times of the year and we are committed to do everything in our power to ease congestion and inconvenience to drivers during this holiday weekend," the Governor said.

According to AAA, almost 49 million people will travel more than 50 miles on Wednesday through Sunday. Over 89 percent of those people will be driving.
