With trout-fishing season just a few weeks away, New York's Department of Environmental Conservation has spring stocking lists available.
Trout stocking begins in mid-March and runs through May. The DEC website (http://on.ny.gov/227aqjY ) provides a list of stocked waters, anticipated number of fish to be released, and approximate stocking times.
The season for trout and salmon runs from April 1 through October 15. Bass season runs from the third Saturday in June through November 30.
Perch, sunfish and crappie can be taken all year.
