New York State is looking for women who want to learn about the outdoors!
The Department of Environmental Conservation is now accepting applications for the September session of the "Becoming an Outdoors Women (BOW) Workshop." The BOW program is a national educational programed offered in 38 states and six Canadian provinces and is designed to provide an environment where women of all ages and abilities can learn outdoor skills like hunting, fishing and camping.
The next BOW workshop will take place September 7-9, 2018 at Greek Peak Mountain Resort in Cortland.
Registration is $325 and you need to complete and submit an application by June 28th.
Space is limited to 125 participants and applications usually exceed availability. In that case, participants will be chosen by lottery.
BOW also offers "Beyond BOW Workshops" with things like wilderness first aid courses and guided fishing trips.
