BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Counties in Western New have the highest unemployment rate in all of New York State, according to data released Wednesday.
The New York State Department of Labor reports the Buffalo and Niagara Falls area unemployment rate is 19.2 percent for the month of April.
At the same time last year, the rate was 3.9 percent.
Niagara County has a jobless rate of more than 20 percent.
