BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Western New York natives who now call New York City home will soon be able to lay claim to their very own Wegmans.

The Rochester-based supermarket chain will open its first location in the Big Apple on Sunday, when its 74,000 square foot store debuts on Flushing Avenue in the Admirals Row development of Brooklyn.

The store will be home to 500 employees, including 150 full-time workers.

A second-floor mezzanine will include a market cafe and a bar serving food, wine, beer and other drinks.

The Brooklyn store will be the newest location for Wegmans, which continues to expand its footprint along the East Coast.

A Virginia Beach, Virginia location opened in April. A store in Raleigh, North Carolina welcomed its first customers last month.
