BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — We're learning just how the state of New York stacks up in comparison to the other states as a place to live. The Empire State is the 25th best state, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The report looked at factors like health care, the economy, infrastructure and education. New York is near the middle for most of those categories.

But when it comes to the opportunity it affords residents, New York ranks near dead last, coming in at 47th.
